About the project

Clockwise was built for Uttaranchal University to bring day-to-day operational work into one place. Instead of scattered messages and spreadsheets, teams get a single dashboard where work is created, assigned, tracked and reported.

Key features

  • Authentication: secure registration and login.
  • Dashboard: customisable, with quick access to the information people use most.
  • Task management: create, assign and track tasks efficiently.
  • Reporting: generate detailed reports for analysis and presentation.
  • Integrations: connect with third-party services.

Architecture

The backend follows a microservices approach:

  • Auth service for identity and sessions
  • Task service for task lifecycle
  • Report service for analytics and exports

Each service runs on Node.js in its own Docker container, orchestrated with Docker Compose, and they share a PostgreSQL database with Prisma handling migrations. The frontend is a TypeScript + Vite app deployed on Vercel.

Splitting services this way means each part can be scaled, tested and deployed on its own.
